Wolff's book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" will be released next Tuesday, but some journalists have already snagged copies. That's why the first official excerpt from the book was released on Wednesday. A second excerpt will come out on Thursday, and Wolff will be interviewed on NBC's "Today" show on Friday. The book's publisher, Henry Holt & Company, was forced to adjust its rollout plan on Wednesday. But make no mistake: This was a good problem for Henry Holt to have. The national news coverage of the book's revelations -- including shocking quotes from Steve Bannon -- sent the book soaring on ET, it was ranked #1 on the site's best-selling books list. Twenty-four hours earlier, it had been ranked #48,449. In some ways, this is a dream scenario for an author and a publishing house.

Science Fiction & Fantasy / Fantasy In an alternate version of ancient Rome, mages blessed by the gods wield elemental magic, shaping the land and the people within it. For years, the dictator Ocella ruled Aven with fear, working to strip the society of all the trappings of the Republic, and killing entire families of Senators and bureaucrats who displeased him. After her sister’s husband is put to death, noblewoman Latona was forced into service of the dictator as mage and (presumably) as mistress. With his death, she and her sisters are free once more. Fiction / Literary Fiction / Debut Fiction Fractured family dynamics and the search for a missing fortune are the main threads of this textured debut, set mostly in Cleveland, Ohio, over the course of three decades. Interviews & Reviews has the latest book reviews and author interviews from a Christian perspective. We promote both Indie and traditionally published Christian authors and have a team of readers ready to review your book! We are your go to site for book. With so many superheroes and adaptations to choose from, it can be tough to find the perfect read for you and your children. One of our favorite middle grade series is Shea Fontana's , a graphic novel series set at Super Hero High, where well-known DC heroes, both male and female, not only attend classes, but also deal with all the awkwardness of growing up --- oh, and superpowers. The sixth book in the series, DATE WITH DISASTER, is now in stores, and our reviewer, Katherine Szabo, had the pleasure of interviewing the author, Shea Fontana, and illustrator, Yancey Labat, about their process, the series and, of course, their favorite super heroes. Feb 1, 2018 One of our favorite releases of 2017 was Nidhi Chanani's PASHMINA. In this graphic novel, a young Indian-American girl struggles with her mother's lack of answers to questions about her past. Priyanka desperately wants to know who her father was, and why her mother left India so many years ago, but her mother refuses to answer. But when Priyanka discovers a magical pashmina scarf in her mother's closet, she is transported to a fantastical, colorful version of India that just might hold some answers. Blending snippets of her own youth with bold, vivid colors and a lot of imagination, Nidhi Chanani weaves a powerful tale of self-discovery, blending cultures and identity. We had the opportunity to ask Nidhi a few questions about her book recently.

Instead of running away from chaos and uncomfortable things he explores, prods, and even embraces them. In a market where many authors dream about becoming an Oprah Book Club Book, Chuck writes with the hopes that men will pick up his books and find something that speaks to them. His books move forward at break neck speed with more twists and turns than a mountain road. It's no surprise that Fight Club translated so well onto the screen. We sat down with Chuck in a little diner in Portland, Oregon. When we got there he was hard at work on the latest draft of his upcoming novel. Unassuming and soft spoken, Chuck isn't the kind of person you'd expect to create Fight Club's Tyler Durden or Invisible Monster's half-faced Evie.

Many people feel dissatisfied with aspects of neoliberalism, but fewer know what it is or where it came from. Economic historian Niall Kishtainy recommends some of his favourite books on the history of economic thought, books that use intellectual history to examine issues confronting us in the real world. The amount of “scandal” or other negative, largely personal, coverage given to any appointee, agency or department is exponentially related to how well that appointee, agency or department is doing at enacting a conservative agenda. On the Townhall Review, a roundup of the week’s news that I host: Hear my tribute to former First Lady Barbara Bush. San Diego County has voted to join the “revolt” against California’s self-proclaimed “sanctuary status.” The California law, it has been argued by people that ought to know, is a violation of federal law and unarguably unconstitutional. My friend and colleague Michael Medved takes a look at the bill flying through the California legislature that threatens religious freedom. Some local California coverage of protests against the SDC action featured one of the protesters proclaiming loudly to the interviewer, “You just can’t go against state law.” Not too long ago the host had a rather feisty on-TV exchange with someone whose response I described in private conversation as “utterly incoherent.” After that, I really thought it would be a while before I encountered anything quite so blatantly nonsensical. And Mike Gallagher talks with reporter Mollie Hemmingway about the latest on James Comey. Yet in a matter of weeks I hear this protester proudly say something so self-contradictory that I wished I were capable of a Tex Avery cartoon take. Howard’s “The Death of Common Sense: How Law is Suffocating America” was published in 1994 it was about the law and how too much law always ends up with contradictions and that it is better to leave some things up to common sense. But I don’t think anyone at the time imagined that just a little more than 20 years later we would be subject to absurdities like that uttered by the San Diego protester. We have done far more than kill common sense, we have killed coherence. Says Wikipedia: The Absurd in these plays takes the form of man’s reaction to a world apparently without meaning, and/or man as a puppet controlled or menaced by invisible outside forces. This style of writing was first popularized by the 1953 Samuel Beckett play Waiting for Godot.
